About
BLURB:
My name is Lyric… and I’m dead.
After escaping an abusive relationship, I thought the worst was finally behind me. Instead, I am trapped in the In-Between, a strange place between life and death, with no memory of how I got here.
The only person willing to help me is Atticus—an obsessive, possessive man with secrets as dangerous as my own. He promises to help me find peace and finally go home, but every answer uncovers a darker truth about my death.
To escape the In-Between, I have to confront the people who shattered my life, uncover what really happened to me, and decide just how much of my humanity I’m willing to sacrifice for revenge.
The closer I get to the truth, the more impossible it becomes to leave Atticus behind.
And if Atticus gets what he wants…
I never will.

A fun adventure to solve. The characters are cute, fun and super stubborn. There's laughs and there's trauma. The story moves in mysterious ways. I wasn't able to completely connect to the characters but it was entertaining. I wasn't a big fan of the writing style but it was an interesting concept that I did enjoy reading.
View on GoodreadsARC review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 Okay, I am speechless! This book was amazing! Every page had me hooked and I did not want to stop reading. This was a great read for October. I loved every page and definitely loved the drama and revenge. I am obsessed!

View on GoodreadsI received this as an ARC. The first 20% of the book started promisingly however the storyline was rushed in parts that there important like developing the main characters and the relationship, but the other parts which didn’t need to be as detailed and graphic were. The ending was so rushed and abrupt. I struggled to read this. I can see where the story was try to go but I feel like it needs some work
View on GoodreadsThis book started off strong and had me hooked initially. Lyric’s backstory was heartbreaking, and I found myself rooting for her from the beginning. Then came Atticus... and this man TESTED me. 😂 One minute, I couldn’t stand some of the ways he treated Lyric, and the next, he was exactly the person I wanted him to be for her. My biggest issue was how rushed the romance felt. Some of the spicy scenes also felt strangely timed. Overall, it was a good read with an FMC I really felt for, but the rushed romance and my complicated feelings about Atticus stopped it from completely hitting the mark for me.
View on GoodreadsThis is author Decay B's debut novel and 100% for those who are looking for a spicy paranormal revenge read this spooky season. There are parts of this book that I really enjoyed and parts that just didn't jive with me. I liked the relationship between Lyric and Attie and how it had developed by the end of the book, but it was really quick in the beginning. I think that this book was the ultimate revenge story first and foremost, and I'm always down for one of those. For me the ending of this book was a nice surprise and not a way I saw it going. It brought a smile to my face at the end of a very heavy and emotional and challenging story. There are some dark subject matters in this story so please check your triggers before you dive in. Thank you to the author for providing me with this arc.
View on GoodreadsI went into this with high hopes because of the reviews and the premise sounded right up my alley, a chubby AuDHD heroine in what looked like a dark, twisty story and with great reviews. The beginning was promising and I was on board with the concept. Everything up until the point where she realizes she’s dead worked well enough for me. Unfortunately, that’s where it started to lose me. For such a short book I expected things to feel a bit rushed, but the relationships still felt underdeveloped. The drama with her BFF and the intense bond with Attie after only a few hours together didn’t land for me. I never really got a clear sense of the characters or their dynamic and they felt inconsistent, and I struggled to understand and/or care about them. I enjoy dark and spicy romances, but the shift from detailed descriptions of dead bodies (maggots included) straight into sexy time was not for me in my headspace. It pulled me out of the story rather than adding to the darkness in a way that worked. I ended up only reading about a third properly before skimming the rest to see where it was going (after reading that there was a plot twist). The twist that some characters were dead was something I hadn’t fully caught, and I did enjoy that reveal. The ending was interesting, but it didn’t make up for the lack of character and relationship development earlier on. I would have preferred more time spent establishing the characters and their connections and less focus on the murder aspects. The idea and the twists had potential, but it didn’t quite click for me. I read an ARC copy, and this is my honest review.
View on GoodreadsWhen the main character escapes a abusive relationship/family and moves in with her childhood best friend she takes a trip to the library where she meet a hot guy things move a little quick and they go on a date where she learns she dead he's dead and so is her bestie Whats a couple got but time on there hands so they go on a hunting spree and get revenge hoping it take then to the other side well its complicated thats for sure Also didn't expect horny demons in hell I like how one simple joke made me understand the book tile they all faint and drop like goats 🐐 I was not expecting to cry over the ending well played didn't see that coming Thank you for a chance to arc was a wonderful time

View on Goodreads.·:*¨ “I’m so proud of you, Lyr.” That one little sentence makes me come undone. All the feelings I’ve been suppressing my whole life come to the surface, and I let out a croaky sob. ARC Review Haunting Goats by Decay B. @decayb_author 248 pages Published October 13, 2026 👻Dark & Twisty 👻OBSESSIVE/PROTECTIVE MMC 👻TOUCH HER AND DIE 👻FORCED PROXIMITY 👻HE FALLS FIRST 👻PLUS SIZE FMC 👻”WHO DID THIS TO YOU?” 👻Lots of spice ☠️My rating 4.25 ☠️Do I recommend? Yes* But, you’ve gotta be the right audience. It’s a debut book and I probably give those novels some lead way but that doesn’t take away from the fact I enjoyed it. There was some filler but that happens and I’m letting that slide a bit. Overall, I thought this was a really good debut piece from a new author. I think some elements could potentially be polarizing for some readers- but, it’s always important to remember there’s a difference between paranormal & 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹. It leans dark for sure. (And I know that’s subjective like everything else in reading) I straight up wanted to throw my kindle at the end- and that’s not a bad thing… it just shows that I was invested versus indifferent. ☠️ I primarily think the target audience will eat this up. I enjoyed it. There was smut, depth and delivery. ⚠️𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐜𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 & 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐢l𝐞𝐫𝐬⚠️ 𝗧𝗬 @decayb_author 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 & 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 --- 𝗜 𝗔𝗟𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗔 𝗣𝗛𝗬𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗬 /𝗕𝗢𝗫 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 @willowanddagger ☠️ 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.
