Never Make Deals With Insufferable Demons

I loved Through Your Eyes, the 1st book of the series and I had high hopes for Cas and Vale… And it didn't disappoint! Loved the banter, the tension, the build up, and of course, the fireworks! Super easy read, couldn't put it down, writing style flows so well, the characters have different tones (not exactly the same style for both POVs). Highly recommend, looking forward to book 3. Valefor and Cass make a deal. His possessiveness is God tier and a demon learning feelings? Perfection. Him calling out humans for being stupid? Perfection. My favorite quote: "Didn’t matter that seraph sign were guilty of numerous crimes as well, the pattern was inevitable through their lens of fear. Humans are odd that way. So desperate to feel safe and secure they will clutch to lies." As for romance? “I do not want your mortality. I want your eternity.” I also loved being able to see Ember and Kael continue their HEA. Excited is an understatement when it comes to my feelings about where this series is going and how Raiden plans to get them a "mother." 10/10 no notes.

The devoured the intensity that was the dynamic between Cass and Vale. She thought he was her enemy, always taunting her. He was entirely devoted to her from the start, but she believes he is toying with her. He makes a bet with her to prove that he is more than just a flirt. She agrees to a night with him if she loses. What can go wrong? I loved the growth of both of their characters throughout the story. What was a friendly wager turned into so much more. The frenemies to lovers was fantastic. The build up between them was intense, and when it finally boiled over it was hot hot hot. Perks of being with a demon I suppose. This was a very well written, unique story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would have liked more background into the demon months and angelic months, but it didn't take away from the overall point of the story. 5 stars for a quick, delightful read full of lust and debauchery with an emding that left me full and satisfied.

The writing is great and the story line has potential. However, I felt like everything was rushed. I wish there had been more character and world building. The enemies to lovers dynamic between the two main characters could have been so much more. That being said, the story was cute and worth a read. I loved this story from beginning to end! It was very well written and such a quick, easy read, but I definitely wasn’t prepared for how emotional it would get. There were moments where I genuinely needed tissues. I absolutely loved the MMC. His obsession with Cass, his protectiveness, and the way he genuinely cared about her completely melted my heart. He wasn’t just obsessed with her. He truly saw her and wanted all of her. Cass was such a strong FMC. I loved how brave, smart, and protective she was, especially when it came to her sister. She was easy to root for, and I really enjoyed watching her journey throughout the story. This book had the perfect mix of romance, emotion, and characters I genuinely cared about. Definitely a story I’m glad I got to read!

I got this as an advanced reader copy. I loved this book. The world building was understandable but not overwhelming with too many details. I instantly fell in love with the characters. It was enemies to lovers meets insta-love but with a demon! . I really enjoyed the story and character development and can’t wait to read the next one!

A Fascinating Demon Romance with Rich World-Building and an Unusual Bet This demon romance has some really fascinating world-building. One of the most interesting aspects is the way people are assigned to a specific part of the city based on their birthday. It is an established part of their society, but it also comes with plenty of controversy, which adds an interesting social layer to the story. The female main character catches the attention of a demon who is clearly smitten with her, and the two end up making a bet. What starts out as something relatively simple turns into a much more interesting journey involving the search for a politician, while a romance develops along the way. I particularly enjoyed how the different elements come together. The political and social aspects don't simply sit in the background but become part of the story and the relationship, making the world feel much richer. Overall, this was a fascinating and entertaining paranormal romance. The unusual world-building and the way the bet develops into something much bigger made it an interesting read, and I enjoyed discovering where the story would go. it's maybe a 3.75 for me. it was very entertaining to read. really quick and easy to go through. there wasn't too much depth but still good. i would have preferred a more thorough grasp of the world but it was all good.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Hellborn lovers series. Vale has patiently waited for Cass for 5 years, is it his time now? This is only a short story and I really wanted it to carry on. Nice quick read Thankyou to the author for letting me read an advanced copy

It’s straight into the story, very snappy, and I instantly liked the Characters Cass FMC and Vale MMC. This is actually book 2 in the Hellborn Lovers series, but they can be read as standalones. The book focuses on the long standing tensions between the FMC and the MMC, which reach a spicy breaking point with a bet between the two. I liked the concept in the book around humans being born into demonic or seraphim months, and this defining their social standing. The light humour also really worked for me. The chemistry was there from the beginning, and remained intense throughout the book. It is more of a short story, my copy was 109 pages long, but it was a great read, and I inhaled it within a day. I’m going to go back and get book1 into my tbr list now! Thank you to the author Luci Briar for the opportunity to read this arc.
